With the 2015 Pan Am Games just over a month away, amateur athletes across the Americas are pushing themselves to new levels of physical fitness and athletic achievement in pursuit of a Pan Am medal. The athletes competing in the Pan Am Games are some of the fittest people in the world, with spectacular physiques and astoundingly strong cores. Even these elite athletes, however, still suffer from lower back injury, strains, sprains, and musculoskeletal pain.
Thankfully, the PASO (Pan American Sports Organization) has enlisted the services of a team of exceptional chiropractors, including BodyMend’s own Dr. Rashaad Nauth-Ali, who have been trained to be able to provide their chiropractic expertise as first responders at various Pan Am events.
Chiropractors like Dr. Rashaad use a variety of treatment techniques, specific to each patient, to achieve a desired clinical outcome. At the Pan Am games, Dr. Rashaad anticipates seeing a lot of acute injuries including sprains, strains and concussions; the types of injuries you might expect from bodies in motion running at maximum capacity.
Dr. Rashaad Nauth-Ali, in addition to holding a Doctorate of Chiropractic from the prestigious New York Chiropractic, is also a graduate of the McMaster Contemporary Medical Acupuncture Program, and holds a bachelors of Human Kinetics (Kinesiology) degree from the University of Windsor. As an all-round athlete and an avid baseball player and golfer, he will bring his appreciation for human and athletic performance to the first responder team at the Pan Am Games.
Dr. Rashaad takes an evidence-based and patient-centered approach to care while identifying the source of the pain, correcting aberrant motion, and repairing the motor patterns which led to the patient’s problem. His treatments consist of medical acupuncture, myofascial release techniques, instrument assisted soft tissue manipulation, chiropractic adjustments as well as rehabilitative modalities and exercises. Incorporating acupuncture, a proven treatment modality, into his treatment program, enables him to treat an even greater range of disorders more effectively and efficiently.
Luckily, you don’t have to be an elite athlete competing in the Pan American Games to benefit from Dr. Rashaad’s extensive and diverse healthcare knowledge. His services are available to anyone by booking an appointment to see him at BodyMend.
